Biography: Orazio Fumagalli was born in Italy in 1921. As a child, his family emigrated to New York City where he grew up. During World War II, he served in the Coast Guard. Following the war, he studied art at the University of Iowa and in Italy. In 1954, Fumagalli began work at the Tweed Gallery in Duluth. After completing his PhD. in 1964, he came to Stout to create the Art Department. He served as chair of that department until 1978. He retired in 1988. Description: This collection includes correspondence, art programs, lecture notes, and course materials. The course materials pertain to classes Fumagalli and his wife Barbara had as students as well as classes he taught at Iowa and Duluth.
